dirstat

Fast, single-binary directory statistics CLI: every file under a tree grouped by format, with counts, sizes, and lines of code, as a colored terminal table or as JSON.

dirstat is a CLI that walks a directory tree and groups every file by format, with counts, sizes, and lines of code, printed as a colored terminal table or as JSON. It is built for developers and coding agents sizing up an unfamiliar repository, and for tooling that wants the same numbers in machine-readable form. Its classification tables are compiled into one static binary, so a scan reads no settings file it was not handed. dirstat is written in Go, with its source mirrored at github.com/stricttools/dirstat.
