testisolation

Uncompromising test isolation for Go: your tests structurally cannot touch your real files, secrets, or git identity.

testisolation is a Go library that keeps tests away from your actual files, secrets, and git identity. One call gives a test a throwaway home directory, a throwaway git configuration and identity, locked-down git transports, and an environment stripped of credentials, all restored when the test ends. A companion package boots a throwaway PostgreSQL cluster for tests that need a database. It is written in Go, with its source mirrored at github.com/stricttools/testisolation.
